May, Mon 21st SE Essex Organic Gardeners present 'From Gardener to Grower - the business of growing salad' - SE Essex Organic Gardeners

Essex-born author Piper Terrett and her husband Douglas Smith began growing vegetables and keeping chickens in their back garden in Billericay in 2005. Now based in Hertford, he is setting up his own small-scale loose-leaf salad business, grown along organic lines and locally sold. In this talk, Piper explains their journey from gardeners to small-scale commercial growers.

Our speakers start at 8.00pm, but Growing Together will be open from 7.00pm to allow members to browse our Library, etc.

Refreshments are available at all meetings. Talks are open to the public.

Non-members £2.00 - everybody is welcome!

June, Thu 7th Action Organic-Stafford are organising a trip to Prince Charles’s organically managed Duchy Home Farm, near Tetbury, Glos - North Staffs Organic Gardeners
Travel is in a 49-seater coach (with on-board loos), departing from and returning to Stafford. The tour is at 2.30, is all on foot, and lasts about an hour and a half.
